New Job! (I'm Alive I Swear)

This year has been full new things for me! Since this May I have officially been hired full-time as a 2D Artist at 1st Playable Productions in New York, so been busy adjusting to the area and job. Learning a lot and the people there are great.

Look forward to more art this month as I do October Sketch :)

I'm also learning the cello... slowly but surely.

Uncertain

I always wondered if Link was uncertain or hesitant about his task... of course he really is just the 'link' between the player and the game, but still.

Sorry for lack of updates, been doing freelance and then working on this thing in-between for a while. I wanted to do more with graphic shapes, not sure if that happened at all. Oh well, done for now.

Winning Entry: The Wind Waker HD Nintendo of America Fan Art Contest

I won!!! I won the top 5 grand prize for the Wind Waker HD Fan Art contest held by Nintendo of America!

Along with a Wii U and the Wind Waker HD, I will have my animation shown at the Symphony tour in Seattle during concert and in the lobby hall… which is of course amazing. But I’m honestly so honored. Maybe I’m going nuts with my feelings towards this game, but I can’t help it. I just love it.

I only wish that every fan art submission for this contest could get the recognition they deserve. There is so much fantastic work… congratulations to all of them!

Wind Waker HD Fan Art Contest (I WON - AGAIN!)

Yay! Here are storyboards I did for the Wind Waker HD Fan Art Contest held by Nintendo of America. I won the grand prize and placed in the top 5 in the country. I just wish that everyone's art could of been shown... everyone deserves to get recognition.

The Lost Song Backgrounds

Artwork I did for The Lost Song by Daedalic Entertainment. I did background painting and some character design for the whole 22 page interactive book. Really enjoyed it!

The Lost Song - Now in app stores!

Hey guys!

What a neat feeling. The first professional project I ever worked on is out! The interactive children's book "The Lost Song" by Daedalic Entertainment is now in Apple and Windows app stores. I was in charge of background painting and character designing as well as working together with everyone to achieve the right animations and feel of the book. Lots of fun times were had and I really enjoyed working together with Yury Schicker and Karen Agerbo Bennetzen (who also worked on the viral animated short "The Reward").

It has lots of animations, puzzles (natural for Ravensburger) and comes in 5 different languages for all you language savvy people out there! German, English, French, Italian and Spanish. So spread it around, Daedalic makes great stuff and it needs to be heard.

I'll be posting some artwork I did in it shortly as well as more work in the future as I try to push my work and also expand my markets. You may also see me at some conventions soon. : ) Stay tuned!

Proost,
Amanda

Pike

His name is Pike. Some pencil drawings of an old character I used in an illustration once... it's nice to revisit old inspirations sometimes. And sketching is always relaxing.
