Okay. Holy cow, haven't updated with serious stuff in a while.
So, my 32 page book The Fox Child has been finally finished! I'm getting it printed through Blurb.com and hopefully I can send some copies to some publishing companies along the way! I really enjoied working on a project like this, so this really opened a whole new world of illustration for me. I've also started to definately find more of my style, how I work, and my personality as well. Overall, this project (while it almost killed me to finish, nothing a few cups of coffee and some very long nights can't solve) was an extreamly beneficial t
hing for me as an artist and person. I can not show you the text of the book, or all of the pages (for simple privacy reasons), but hopefully the ones I do show you can inspire you.
For those of you who do not know, the story is about a girl who meets a mysterious fox fairy... and discovers many surprises along the way. I have had this fox character created since highschool, and I'm so happy to see him in a finished product...it's very personal to me. This book consists of 32 pages, and I had 10 weeks to make it. I removed the text for privacy reasons. It was a lot of work, but I really really enjoied the whole process. Even if I was the editor, publisher, art director, illustrator and writer.
The first is the book cover (front and back). The following after that are page spreads (meaning a page on each side, so each spread is 2 pages). It is an 8" x 10" standard landscape book.
Here's a preview of 14 of the 32 pages.
